The Detroit Action Commonwealth (D.A.C.) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan community organization of indigent and homeless individuals. The mission of the D.A.C is to organize indigent and homeless persons and families, provide opportunities and workshops to help them improve their lives, develop leadership capacities, advocate for better and more humane services, and educate and mobilize around issues of social and economic justice. There are two Detroit Action Commonwealth chapters located at the Capuchin Soup Kitchens in Detroit, Michigan.
The Metro Coalition of Congregations is an interfaith organization of clergy and religious congregations working together for transformative systemic and societal change in our communities. The Coalition, representing Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties, is seeking partnership with civic leaders from metro Detroit communities, and is committed to building power in order to influence policy and become a strong, unified voice speaking out and taking action on issues that affect all of southeast Michigan.

YOUTH VOICE is an organization of Detroit youth who build their own power to create change. With chapters in Cody High School, Detroit Central High School, Southwestern High School, Henry Ford High School and Martin Luther King High School, and new chapters developing in Osborn and Denby High Schools, YOUTH VOICE is growing in both the number of schools and youth participating. Participants mobilize their peers and advocate for better schools, safer and cleaner neighborhoods, efficient transportation systems, employment, recreational opportunities, and the ability for them to provide input about policies that directly affect youth.
