Ban the Box

In 2010 Detroit Action Commonwealth ran a successful campaign to remove the check box on employment applications in the City of Detroit requiring applicants to declare any previous felony convictions. In the Fall of 2010, City Council voted in favor of removing the box from employment applications.

Youth Employment

In 2010 Youth Voice worked with City of Detroit officials to secure 50 summer jobs for high school students in Southwest Detroit.
