Charter Management Selection

As many Detroit children attend charter schools as public schools, yet parents and educators have no say over which charter management organizations appear in our communities, or what kinds of schools they create.  Our current Deficit Elimination Plan calls either for the transformation of 41 DPS schools into charter schools, or for their closure.  Therefore, we demand that Our Kids Come First sit on a review committee to select of any charter school operator that comes into Southwest Detroit.
