Detroit Action Commonwealth Creates Bedbug Task Force
On Friday October 2nd, leaders of Detroit Action Commonwealth (DAC) held a meeting to create a task force with the purpose of solving the issue of bedbugs. DAC brought together leaders from Detroit and Wayne County involved with community health and building safety. Also attending the meeting and working on the task force are bedbug experts and researchers, business leaders, U.S. Congressman John Conyers, members of Detroit City Council, and community members.
The Task Force is the first group in the area to bring together government, business leaders, and community members to solve this problem. Members of the Task Force will work with DAC leaders and organizers to create a comprehensive program for eradicating bedbugs in Detroit. The newly-formed Bedbug Task Force will reconvene on Friday, November 6th.
